Love at first sight does happen! In Pookas and Boneheads, it happens to Tom Hartman when he goes on a blind date with Annie Boyd, a vegan animal welfare activist single mom. Annie mesmerizes him with her magical powers, intellectual and emotional as well as physical. She exposes Tom to a progressive way of thinking about the relationship between humans and animals. He tries to resist, but ultimately he succumbs to her charms. Their adventures together, whether in a raft on a raging river, or in a animal hoarder’s house rescuing cats, are filled with joy and sorrow, comedy and irony. The value of family, commitment, ambition, and unconditional love bind them on their unique journey.
